Romans - Hodge Charles Hodge issued the final version of his commentary on "Romans" in 1864. It was at once recognized as belonging to the number of the few truly great works on this Epistle and Christian leaders down to the present day have upheld that verdict.
Its themes of justification by faith, abounding grace, freedom from sin and from the old nature, living sacrifices, God's sovereignty/man's responsibility and much else have both challenged and nourished followers of Christ for centuries.
